Get to Know the New Redesigned Honda HR-V

2023 Honda HR-VIn June 2022, Honda released details about the 2023 Honda HR-V. The Honda HR-V is a small crossover vehicle that has been in Honda's line-up for many years. And while it is a popular model that has sold extremely well, Honda announced that the 2023 version would be redesigned, complete with a new exterior design and new features. If you are in the market for a small crossover vehicle, a vehicle that is a mix between a compact vehicle and a compact SUV, you may be curious about what changes Honda made to this popular model and may want to learn more about the vehicle as a whole. Read on to learn more about the new redesigned 2023 Honda HR-V.

An Introduction to the 2023 Honda HR-V

The 2023 Honda HR-V is the smallest crossover vehicle that Honda currently offers. The vehicle comes in three trim options; the base model or LX, the sport trim, and the EX-L model. The base model has an MSRP of $24,895. The vehicle gets about 25 miles per gallon with city driving and about 30 miles per gallon with freeway or highway driving. The vehicle has four doors and seats up to five people. It has two rows of seats, with the second row of seating being able to fold down to accommodate larger cargo loads. The car has a four-cylinder 2 L engine and a CVT transmission. The automobile can also be upgraded to AWD.

The Changes Honda Made to the 2023 Honda HR-V

Even though the Honda HR-V has been one of Honda's best-selling models, they redesigned it and released it for the 2023 model year. One of the biggest changes that was made to the vehicle is the length of the vehicle. The 2023 Honda HR-V is nine inches longer than its predecessor, with a length of nearly 180 inches. This makes it one of the longest small crossover vehicles on the market and makes it comparable in size to the 2022 Honda CR-V.

2023 Honda HR-VAnother huge change that was made with the 2023 Honda HR-V is the shape of the body or the exterior of the car. In past years, the vehicle has emulated the CR-V appearance, making the automobile look more like an SUV. With this new model, Honda gave the vehicle a long hood and curving roof line. This makes the vehicle look more like an automobile than an SUV. Many people are comparing the body shape to the 2022 and 2023 Toyota Corolla Cross and Toyota C-HR, which are in direct competition with the Honda HR-V.

The seats in the 2023 Honda HR-V were also updated. They are more comfortable and roomier than earlier models of the vehicle. And since the car has increased its length, some of that length went to giving passengers more legroom in the back of the vehicle. In fact, the 2023 Honda HR-V offers one of the roomiest backseats for small crossover and small compact SUVs on the market today.

2023 Honda HR-V Interior
The engine in the new Honda HR-V has also been changed. The vehicle now has a 158 horsepower 2.0-liter inline four-cylinder engine. This is an upgrade from the previous one, which offered a 141 horsepower 1.8-liter four-cylinder engine.
The final change to the vehicle has to do with the interior. The previous Honda HR-V interior had many options for consumers to select from. However, in an effort to streamline production, and possibly even due to material delays due to COVID-19, the vehicle has fewer interior options. But, the options that are available feature higher-end materials compared to years past. The interior also features wavy designs and honeycomb designs, designed specifically to hide scratches, dirt, and dust.
